David L. Dutton David Dutton is a Board Director and Chief Executive Officer with a track record of transforming underperforming and constrained industrial technology businesses into profitable, scalable platforms. He brings deep experience in turnaround execution, capital allocation, and operational transformation across private equity-backed, private, and public companies. As Chief Executive Officer and Board Director of MDC Precision, a PE-backed global manufacturer serving semiconductor, life sciences, and aerospace markets, Mr. Dutton improved EBITDA margins from 6% to 11% while scaling revenues 85% over 2 years. He repositioned the business toward higher-margin segments, expanded its addressable market from approximately $200M to $1.5B through new product platforms, and deployed capital to expand and modernize manufacturing capacity, doubling output to support growth and improve lead times. His leadership drove structural margin improvement, share gains, and increased resilience across semiconductor cycles. Previously, Mr. Dutton served as Chief Executive Officer, Board Director, and Vice Chairman of Silvaco, where he doubled revenue, achieved sustained profitability, and executed six acquisitions to expand the company’s product portfolio and market position. Under Dutton's tenure, Silvaco established a new SIP division which now represents >25% of the companies revenue. He also led the company’s transition to GAAP financial reporting, strengthened governance and internal controls, and positioned the business for public market readiness. Earlier, Mr. Dutton was President, Chief Executive Officer, and Board Director of Mattson Technology (NASDAQ: MTSN), where he led a turnaround from a $400M loss to sustained profitability and increased cash from $20M to over $150M. During his tenure, he strengthened financial discipline, implemented Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and executed strategic acquisitions to reposition the company for growth. Mr. Dutton recently retired from the Board of Directors of MDC Precision LLC and has previously served on the boards of Silvaco Inc. and Mattson Technology. His committee experience includes Strategy, Compensation, and Audit. He brings particular expertise in capital deployment under constraint, M&A strategy and integration, global manufacturing, and performance improvement in cyclical and technically complex markets.
